In 2021, the whole world ground to a halt due to Covid pandemic, and all schools in Vietnam were closed. School children started to get used to virtual classes with online lessons and conversations. This situation helped teachers with their curriculum and students schoolwork, but at the same time, raised a bigger challenge: screen time.

Many of our students complained about their sore eyes, dizziness, while others were drawn to online games and got lost in the virtual world. Parents, with their busy WFH schedules, had little time to interact or talk with their children, not to mention cooking three meals a day and tons of house chores to do. It was madness all over.

Being Waldorf kindergarten teachers, we had no choice but to stay unemployed, as children in our schools are not allowed screen time, neither as a part of their lessons nor as entertainment. Their parents texted us, desperate to find a way to keep the kids busy, and buy them some more time for work.

And that, was the start of PLAY AT HOME.

We have always been trying to keep our work neat and full of love, just like the first days. New ideas are inspired by the goal of helping children find joy in labor and imagination. After all, we are teachers, and we would love to dedicate our life to embrace and educate children.
