CHILDREN AND SEWING

by pahadmin

Hello friends. I'm up here again.

Today, after a long time, my blog has a new comment. And I'm very happy when that friend said what I shared was useful. Ready to have a little free time, I want to write about the topic of sewing. Specifically, SHOULD KIDS LEARN SEWING? WHEN STARTS?

I'm a fan of craft shows. I've tried everything, embroidering, sewing, quilling (twisting paper), macramé (tie a rope), making dreamcatcher (good night charms), making wire jewelry (wrapping jewelry), knitting, crocheting, painting, and so on. lazy all over.

Maybe because I'm like my mother, my son also likes to do crafts. And when he was 4-5 years old, he wanted to sew. The first thing he sewed was a cotton mouse; because the girls at school were sewing, he asked to work together, so she let one child sit.

(The wooden mouse is hewn by the mother and the cotton mouse is the sewing one.)

Kids and sewing, well, that's cool, isn't it? So how old to start? And what is suitable?

I think, starting to hold the needle and pull the thread, then you can start sewing. Just up and down. In my child's kindergarten, 4 years old, you guys are lucky. As long as you have an adult sitting next to you to guide you, you can do it all. Sometimes when I see good children, I admire them so much.

But what good luck?

- The answer is luck is fine. Lucky whatever you want. You can stretch the canvas for your child to sew, stab where he wants, whatever color he wants, just let him be free. After you get used to your hands, you can let children draw their favorite pictures and then sew them along. The final product obtained can be:

pillow case, hug pillow, recliner, ride pillow

Wall painting

backpack hanger

tote bag

pencil cases

how many episodes

etc…

So are children sewing the same or different from adults?

- Same but different. It's like sewing something useful and useful, not sewing it and then throwing it away. The difference is that sewing is simpler, and sewing tools are easier to manipulate. There are many options: young children who are new to needlework can use large-sized plastic needles, whole cloves (provided they use loose woven fabrics such as papa, sedge, etc.); older children are somewhat familiar with Sewing can be done with a pointed iron needle (such as a bag needle) or even a hand sewing needle (the one that is long and has a slightly larger hole, about size 8 or 9), with only a single double strand.

What if you're lucky, but what if you're unlucky?

I think luck is fun, but unlucky :)) But it's important to get to the last step of the process, that is, to build a useful product, then children will see the results of their efforts. spend, and from there, appreciate what takes time and energy to accomplish. And more than that, children learn patience. Have you sew the bow to finish, if the damaged garment is removed, then sew it back up; If you make a mistake, you immediately throw things out, then find them again and sew again; If you have a friend, take it easy every day (this needs your parents to monitor and encourage you not to give up, it's important). Since I have tried knitting and sewing, I have learned to be patient (a little more) and not discouraged when I have to start over again, well, it's less frustrating.

Therefore, I think sewing is a skill that should be acquired, so that at least later when my child grows up, he can sew buttons and sew back where the thread is missing, that's all, not to the point of patching, sewing or repairing. something shirt. Those are too big. I feel like schools these days don't teach sewing anymore, right? I remember when I was in grade 3-4, I was still taught embroidery and basic stitches. My niece is now in sixth grade when she held the needle for the first time, when I gave her the pen with the writing on it Play at Home

===>>> 3 minutes of advertising: This site sells ready-made products for children to get acquainted with needlework, such as pens, sling bags, and stuffed animals. All are pre-punched, with plastic needles and sewing thread. I heard that the sellers are also very cute, probably because I am in it :)) This is also one of the reasons I rarely write articles to share in the past time. Please visit if you are interested.
